For many years, California families had to travel across the country to Doman International’s headquarters in Philadelphia for their children to be seen by our clinical team. Now, that is no longer necessary.
Doman International’s team travels twice a year to Santa Barbara, California to serve and help our families on the West Coast.
Currently, the Doman International team comes to Santa Barbara every June and December.

In 2021, thousands of California families became eligible for the Self-Determination Program to get the best services possible for their children. The Self Determination Program (SDP) is an optimal new program that is accessible through your local regional center. It is for special needs children aged 3 and up (with a few exceptions). It allows parents the opportunity to have more control in developing their service plans and selecting service providers to better meet the needs of their child.
Many California families who have come for appointments in Santa Barbara have been helped get the services that their child needs funded through the Self-Determination Program.

At Doman International, we know many California families that have been helped by Susan Wilson, an Independent Facilitator in the Santa Barbara area. An Independent Facilitator is an essential part of the process to enroll in the Self Determination Program, as they help advocate for the family, walk you through the process, and get your child the best services possible.

Susan is a special needs mom herself, Ella Claire is now 21 years old. Ella Claire started the Doman Method when she was 2 years old and has been transformed in so many ways.
