1. If you could acquire the ability of a superhero, what would you choose and how would you use it?
A superhero who is able to take in information quicker than a computer. To be able to quickly gain more knowledge to help brain-injured children.
2. Who was your hero in childhood? Why?
I have to say Two.
My first was John Glenn, who was the first man to orbit the Earth. This was such a big deal when I was growing up. His story definitely made an impression. I remember writing to him and getting an answer in less then a week.
The second was American author, Maria Killilea. She wrote a book about her daughter who had cerebral palsy. I read it when I was 10 or 11 years old and could not believe the love this mother had for her daughter. At the time when brain-injured kids were only institutionalized, her book was groundbreaking. She was my role model. Looking back that book made me look for the Doman Method™ and it is why I am here today.
3. Which of your parents was the main authority for you?
I was wildly loved by both my parents and both have always been important to me. My mother yelled sometimes while growing up but my father never yelled or raised his voice, but we never wanted to cross him for any reason. I guess I would have to say it was my father.
4. Where is your favorite place in the world?
We go each year to this wonderful tiny hotel on the lake. We love it there and I find it so peaceful.
5. If you could be invisible, where would you go?
I love Broadway Musicals, but they are so very expensive. I would spend a week in New York and would sneak in to see 2 shows a day.
6. What is the last gift you received?
My sister is so nice. She gave me a gift certificate to a store nearby to buy things for my new house.
7. What's a myth that many people buy into that you don't accept?
The myth that babies must sleep on their backs to stop the death from SIDs. This was called “Back to Sleep Campaign”
All my babies slept on their stomach and I was given a hard time from many of my family members. Funny, I have just looked up this myth and they have changed the term from “Back to Sleep Campaign” to “The Safe to Sleep Campaign”. Yes! If you wait long enough, myths will change!
