Pavel’s Journey (Cerebral Palsy)

Pavel was born prematurely and spent several days in intensive care. While he was in the NICU, doctors found hematomas in his brain. He had to spend about 2 months in the hospital to undergo therapy and gain weight. Several months after coming home, Pavel’s parents noticed that he may be having seizures. After confirming with medical testing, Pavel was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and advised anticonvulsant medication for his seizures.

His parents tried to do everything possible for the development of their little boy, tried different methods, and began to implement some Doman Method® programs at home, based on the books of Glenn Doman. Pavel was 2 years old when his parents officially started with the Doman Method® programs. They began to apply the program to the areas of recommended nutrition, cognitive, and physical development programs, including patterning. At the time, he did not crawl or walk, had limited speech and motor skills, and was often ill.

Over time, Pavel has made great progress. Pavel, who is now 9 years old, along with his hardworking and determined family, has come a long way - teaching Pavel first to crawl on his belly, then to creep on his hands and knees, and then walking under Glenn's ladder to learn how to walk. He has learned to read and type. He perfectly reads books in Russian and English, with content well above his age-level. He loves reading encyclopedias and books on geography. He types essays on the computer independently and is learning mathematics.

The staff at Doman International and parents are happy that Pavel can express himself with his speech in sentences and paragraphs easily. Pavel’s immunity is stronger, and he doesn’t fall sick as often as before. And most importantly - after starting on his Doman Method® program, he hasn’t needed to take any anticonvulsant medication in the past several years! His seizures have completely stopped. Now Pavel goes to school with his peers. Last year, he took part in the Russian language contest and won a prize!

We are very happy for Pavel and his wonderful and friendly family, which mobilized all efforts to help him take the path toward his well-being! Keep it up!
